Academic Support
The Academic Success Center center is located on the 1st floor of the Friedman Center. The Center offers students online support, study skills sessions, workshops, writing support, and tutoring. Appointments can be made by stopping by the Center, calling or online through uSucceed. Smarthinking, a free online tutoring service, is available as well. It can be accessed through JWU Link on the “Academics” tab, under “Tutoring/Homework”, select “Online 24/7: Smarthinking”. Visit their website at: https://academicsupport.jwu.edu/providence/.

Academic Technology Services
The Instructional Design and Technology (IDT) department contributes to student academic achievement by supporting faculty in improving teaching & learning processes and integrating effective instructional technologies in face-to-face and hybrid courses. Campus Safety & Security
Campus Safety & Security Office are located on the 1st floor Friedman Center (401-598-1103). IDs are needed to gain access to most buildings.
Human Resources
The Human Resources office is located on the 4th floor of Wales Hall on the Downcity campus. Their online portal, HR Pulse can give you access to information, forms, and payroll options. Please contact 401-598-1034 for information about your HR Pulse login.
Information Technology
Visit the JWU IT website for IT resources for faculty and staff. The Harborside based IT Computer Lab (Help Desk) can be found in the Harborside Academic Center (HAC). They can assist with Wifi connectivity, network issues, classroom computers, password issues and software requests. Staff members are available to assist you and answer questions. Contact the Help Desk at 401-598-4357 or at it@jwu.edu. Walk in help available as well.
Library
The Harborside campus library is located on the 1st floor of the Friedman Center. Librarians are available to help with a variety of tasks, such as setting up LibGuides (a resource page for your course) and providing workshops on research.
