Johnson & Wales University Library considers it deeply important to acknowledge that our campus rests on the Native American homelands of six indigenous tribes: the Narragansett, Wampanoag, Pequot, Niantic, Nipmuc and Pokanoket. We honor and thank these vibrant Nations for their devotion to the land.
Johnson & Wales University Library recognizes the difficult experiences that Rhode Island’s indigenous peoples have faced, along with the role they play in sustaining the cultural and physical vitality of the environment. By recognizing the history of our state’s Native American Tribes, we affirm our commitment to the interdependent wellness of our land and all its peoples.
