Mission of the Honors Program

The mission of the Honors Program at Johnson & Wales University is to 

  • provide academically advanced students with an Honors-caliber education,
  • enrich the university curriculum, and
  • build a diverse community of scholars.

Benefits of the Honors Program

The benefits of the Honors Program include:

  • academically rigorous curriculum
  • smaller class sizes
  • opportunity to work one-on-one with faculty on an Honors Thesis
  • designation of University Honors Scholar

Joining the Honors Program

Students join the Honors Program in two ways:

  • During the Admissions process, students who meet eligibility criteria are invited to apply to the Honors Program. These applications are reviewed by the Honors Council and acceptances are sent in the spring.
  • After matriculation, students may apply to the Honors Program if they have a 3.5 GPA and a faculty recommendation.
