My recommendations:

The JWU library has two style guides:

MLA Style Guide

APA Style Guide

Follow these tips when verbally citing sources in a speech or presentation:

Your verbal citation should be brief but highlight the most important information: who, what and when.

  • Author

  • Author Credentials

  • Title of work (article, report, etc.)

  • Date of work (if relevant)

Use an introductory phrase:

  • "According to Professor Dumbledore at Hogwarts University..."

  • "Rita Skeeter, a journalist with the Daily Prophet, wrote in her 2014 article..."

  • “In his 2005 commencement address at Stanford University Steve Jobs said, ‘Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.’”
